Since we last visited the shipyard down in St. Malo during early May the builder has made excellent progress and we now have something that is starting to resemble a boat, taking on the form of a very complex catamaran. The main deck is laid flat, and upside down on trestle tables on the fabrication hall floor, alongside another large 30m aluminium hull of a French navy landing craft. Recent upgrades to the IT systems at Osiris Projects were rolled out over the Easter weekend and are running smoothly following two months’ continuous operation.
These upgrades have involved migrating client data to a series of brand new, top of the range DELL PowerEdge and PowerVault servers, providing a massive 70 terabytes of dedicated storage to ensure the company has ample space to store the exponentially increasing amount of data collected on a daily basis.

Easter weekend of 2010 will see Osiris Projects moving into the purpose built, combined office, electronics workshop and equipment storage premises at Brunel Road, Croft Business Park, Bromborough, Wirral. The new offices are approximately 2 miles from the old Eastham location and will provide the long awaited extra space needed by the rapidly expanding number of full time staff. Work has recently started on Osiris Projects new build 28.0m survey vessel, to be named ‘Bibby Tethra’. ‘Tethra’ is a Celtic god, king of the Fomorians who lived in the underworld. This fits well with the Osiris theme, as Osiris was the principal Egyptian god of the underworld.
